Understanding the Blessing: Primal Spirituality

Primal Spirituality is the spirituality you were born with. This naturally indicates that there is a presence of being that existed before “you” were born. There is a spirituality that transcends the human experience and the

Primal Spirituality is the spirituality you were born with.

There are structures of design within creation that are set as the rules of the game. For those that know the rules of the game, they are able to play at a higher level than their brother and sister who do not understand why things are happening the way they are. There is a divine design, the way things work, and there are consequences of life when we try to work outside the design. This is not punishment from an angry God, simply the result of the One Law: Radiation/Response, Action/Reaction, Cause/Effect.

There are certain gateways within the human design that either allow for or block the expression of seven divine virtues for a whole and healthy life. As human beings, we are made up of a combination of elemental influences and natural capacities. We each have a body, of whatever type and function. We each have a mind, however well wired or trained. We each have a feeling realm, to whatever degree of sensitivity. We each have a spiritual connection, by whatever name we give it.

The four primary elemental influences of earth, air, water and fire.

The four primary elemental influences of earth, air, water and fire are represented in the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual make-up of a human being. As each one of these capacities interacts with another, there is specific dynamic that occurs in the interchange. The Spirit has something to give to the heart and the heart has something to give to Spirit in return. The naming of the dynamic that happens in that exchange is known as Blessing.

Creation has a process and a design for how it naturally works. Because we are co-creators gifted with free will, we can create whatever and however we want, whether it is of a higher design and outworking or not. Imagine children working on a construction site without care for each other’s wellbeing, understanding of the machinery or even a plan of what they are building. Utter disregard, chaos and confusion, and somebody is probably going to get hurt. Have you ever seen that energy playing out in the world? How about someone you know or even yourself in your own life?

If we are creating in opposition to the natural design of human function then what is meant to be a blessing can appear to be a curse instead, and before you know it you end up cursing your world instead of blessing it. What should rightly be an experience of growing understanding and awareness of what’s happening and why, instead becomes a maze of confusion, assumptions and misunderstanding. And yet, even though this phenomenon is common, it’s not real on its own. It is simply an experience of the absence of blessing and understanding. We do not have to get rid of the curses or fight off the confusion. We simply have to learn how to increase the experience of blessing and understanding in our own life through practicing natural function.

Primal Spirituality 1 – Blessing and Understanding is a 4-day journey with many modalities of self-discovery, creative expression and group learning. A participant is encouraged to see the blocks they have unconsciously created, forgive and release them, and allow something of Spirit to move through the heart and mind with the healing power of Love. These first two of seven gateways are really important as they serve as a healthy foundation to create from for all of your relationships and other creations. Anyone who learns and honestly applies these principles with consistency will radically transform their experience. Would you like to discover a greater degree of blessing and understanding in your own life!?

The Magic of the Mind

In considering the differences between the mind and the heart, the thinking and the feeling capacities, the importance of surrendering the mind to the heart is often mentioned. Sometimes it can come across as if the heart is more important than the mind. Usually, when referring to the mind, we are talking about the outer conscious mind. However, both the heart and mind have their own specific function and purpose. Yet, when anything tries to play a part that is not actually its part to play inside of a creative cycle, everything gets thrown off. I think it is important for us to recognize what parts we have, how they work and how to operate them in a way that works within the whole. If we are operating in a harmonic co-creative flow with the whole, then we are able to perceive what is wanting to be born and expressed from a larger picture.

I believe the conscious mind has a very unique and powerful job because of something called free will. The conscious mind is endowed with the power of choice and has with it the ability to use logic and reasoning to figure things out. But it is also very limited in its perspective—we can only see so much. We only really understand a portion of what is going on, whether you are looking at the big-scale pictures of the world or the little-scale pictures inside of your life and everyday relationships. An example is when you drive on a road, you can see everything around you in your scope of vision and respond to what is in front of you. However, with GPS you can also be aware of what is coming up even though you cannot yet see it.

We also have feelings, which are connected to everything because it is all energy. It is all vibration, and feelings sense into that. We have something that happens within us as humans, in the subconscious mind and heart space, where we run programs like a computer. We learn how to get a result and then we think we have learned how things work. So we create a little equation and run a program to operate by: “Okay, when this happens, then I do this, and this is the way it plays out.” And then that operational program runs in the background automating our thoughts, feelings and actions until checked and changed. We have some programs that are foundational and we add to those as well as creating new ones as we learn and grow. This is the habitual nature and what we call the ego. It is the programmed reactionary response. Some of these programs or habits are productive and some of them are not.

We also have this amazing connection to Spirit and Light that brings a divine identity of Who We Are as Beings of Love. There is information that is coming in all the time, guidance to help direct us on our path so that we are able to be the fullest version of ourselves and have the greatest impact in our world. Higher forces of these invisible realms want to help us learn and grow to see and understand more than what the conscious mind sees and understands simply of itself. Insight, inspiration, intuition—that is where all this stuff comes from. And it is connected to us through the feelings.

When those higher-vibrational impulses are coming through and wanting to inspire us, if we open up and feel into them and allow them to actually infiltrate (infill-trate) through the heart into the mind, then that is an experience of seeing with the heart. The mind responds to the vibrational radiation, some pictures come together and new understandings form. This doesn’t happen necessarily because I am thinking about it and trying to figure it out. I am simply sensing and feeling into the vibrations and allowing something to come together within my awareness.

And that is a choice. The mind is responsible for that choice. It likes to get wrapped up in all kinds of stuff going on in our world and think about things over and over. It can be likened to a dog gnawing on a bone or chasing its own tail. This happens to all of us as the circular, busy mind can easily fall into that space if not trained otherwise. So the conscious mind does have a job to do. The job of slowing down, relaxing, becoming still, and then pointing the direction of attention. And that is all a part of choice. Because in a moment, there could be inspiration coming down or there could be reaction coming up. How do we know the difference of which one to follow?

Well, the mind is not always great at figuring out the difference. I don’t think that is actually its job. The mind is pretty good at tricking itself. But if we feel into what is coming up inside of us—whether it is coming up, coming down, it is there in our awareness—and feel into the vibration of where it is coming from. What are the feelings of the energies that are associated with this feeling and/or thought? The feelings can reveal the answer, yet the mind has the job of asking the questions. The questions open up the space to look for the answer. We get in our own way often because we think that we already know, and most of the time we don’t. So we block off the possibility for further knowing. If we are willing to question ourselves, to question our reality, to question beliefs and perceptions of what we think is true, to question the different voices that are coming up, and to feel into the answer… Well, I think we are playing a different game then, because we are operating consciously and using the mind and heart in its right usage. The heart holds the knowing and yet it needs the mind’s cooperation, direction and discernment.

This practice is not a ten-minute a day meditation, it is a meta-practice. It is not a practice where you set aside a little time each day and say, “Okay, now I am going to feel into my feelings and be guided and then I’m going to go back to work.” This is a practice that is applied every moment. It is building the faculty of becoming conscious. We want to be masterful in our lives, do we not? And this time, probably more so than at any other time in human history, is calling forth for Masters. It is calling forth from each one of us, to step up, to regenerate and restore this world, and to be the clear channel of a human lightning rod for spiritual expression to birth in form. That requires us to show up a little differently than we have been, to be more conscious.

I think it is really good to know how to do something, and it is also really good to know what can get in the way. I see three ways that we have choice with how we respond to the programmed patterns that show up in us as reactions. 1) Making no choice at all is still a choice. We can continue to be unconscious and allow ourselves to be completely run by habitual function, doing what we’ve always done, running on automatic. Whatever patterns have already been programmed are just going to continue to run, because you are not really in the driver’s seat of your own life. Each one of us has tasted that experience in some way. I believe that we want to become more and more conscious every day in every way. So that is one choice, but not a good one if you want to consciously cause change.

When something comes up from the reactive self, from the old programming, something that no longer serves, you can be aware of it. 2) You can choose to fight against it. You can “try” to change it. You can focus your attention on this thing that you don’t like in yourself and struggle and wrestle with it. You can stay in that state for a very long time. “Where your attention goes, your energy flows, and that thing grows.” By fighting it, all you are doing is strengthening that which you don’t want by focusing on the energy of resistance. “What you resist persists.”

3) You can be aware of the habitual pattern but not respond to it. Choose something else to give your attention to. Focus on what you want to develop and create, not what you  want to get rid of or change. The old patterns will slowly fall away once you stop giving them attention because you are instead programming a new pattern by making intentional choices in a different direction. Choose into those higher feelings. Choose into the inspiration. Choose into divine identity and spiritual expression, by dwelling with those feelings and letting them guide what wants to be birthed through the mind, through the body, through the actions, through the life.

We have a great responsibility and a great joy. This time is also one of the most available times in human history for rapid acceleration and growth. I think that is essentially what self-mastery is about: learning and growth, application and practice, from moment to moment. Mastery is a journey, not a destination. And as each one of us becomes more conscious, intentionally choosing and increasing in personal mastery, so do we also increase the presence of God on Earth.

A Subconscious Composition

I want to share this poem with you and then take an opportunity to expand on it a little bit further.

Incision of Light

With a vision of my mission, I can make a new decision

Accept divine commission and execute with precision

This here is my admission: Heal thy self, thy physician

A subconscious composition, perpetual path to perdition

Set fast through repetition, man’s religion of superstition

It’s the space of opposition, the submission of suspicion

The greed for acquisition and indulgence of inhibition

Slow reduction of nutrition, and we call it a tradition

Only divine recognition avoids the addition of collision

Light the way of transition out of a space of competition

Into a co-creative coalition of truly loving and forgiving

To walk a holy expedition of a life lived with right living

And a righteous ambition for the wisdom of right giving

I give myself permission to listen to my voice of intuition

Life will provide provision for a shiny brand-new edition

Of my puzzle piece position as one heavenly technician

For loving without condition is all I need for ammunition

                                                                         – Rajazuhl

I sat down with this list of over forty words that rhymed with the –ission sound. Within two hours of writing and editing, what came together with these words reflects well what is moving with me in the current of my meditations. It’s amazing to witness the inner process of spirit moving through the mind and coming out as something physical. One of my friends spoke of it as the invisible moving through the inner to express in the outer.

If I have a vision of my mission, some idea, some little bit of sight or an inkling of knowing of why I am here, what my purpose is and what I am here to do inside of this world; then I can move forward. I can make a new decision. I can execute with precision. I can make choices based off of what I know as my truth about who I am and why I am here, what I am here to do. The more I make choices, and the more I actually take action with those choices, the greater that vision becomes. I can see more and more of who I am and why I am here, the part that I play in the greater whole.

And yet I also have to admit that the reasons that I am not already, to a greater degree, playing my part is because I am in my own way, in whatever way. That is the only reason. Everything is designed to flow from spirit, through mind, out into the physical, unless we get in the way of our own channel for that flow. So that is my responsibility. Anytime I find myself putting it out on someone or something else as the blame for me not having the fullest experience of life in who I am, I am giving away my power. So I have to heal myself first. Heal thy self, thy physician.

But what is it that I am healing? Now, here is where the paradox comes in, the dichotomy. I am responsible for healing myself, and yet, because of the machinery of the mind, there are things that I actually cannot really heal. They are outside of my conscious control. The mind is a very powerful tool, it has amazing abilities, and yet there is something above it that is even more powerful: the spiritual realm. I have a conscious mind and I have a subconscious mind, and the subconscious mind is of service to my conscious mind, where I have awareness, choice, free will, logic and reasoning. The subconscious rules over the realms of memories, feelings, habits, and belief paradigms. And the conscious mind is the programmer of it, whether aware of it or not. Whatever gets programmed in there keeps running, just like a computer program playing in the background of the mind.

And let’s be honest here humans, some of our programs are pretty distorted from the divine design. We’ve got governments and religions and

cultures and families and entertainments and education and financials—all the systems. There are distortions everywhere. All of our parents and teachers, all those we interact with day by day–everybody’s doing their best and yet humanity has been passing down distortions for a long time. We can learn and evolve and re-write new programs into our mind of how we want to be, what we want to create, and that is how we use the power of choice and cause change. But the old programs still keep coming up. Some of them have even been passed to us through our DNA via many generations of human consciousness imprinting genetic material. To the degree that we are asleep, we let those programs run, call it the ego and try to fight ourselves. But to the degree that we are awake, we choose whether we want to follow the pattern that is playing or not, the program. The conscious mind has the ability to program/re-program and that is a necessary conscious practice for accelerating awakening. It can also de-program, yet this can be a longer and more deliberating process. There is however one thing that the conscious mind can do to quantum accelerate the process of purification. That is to turn the attention within to the higher realms through the Spirit of Love, and express that outward. It is only the Spirit of Love, activated by the Love for Spirit, which can move through the inner mind and clear the programs.

Without it, what do we have? A perpetual path to perdition, always feeling lost and confused, like a victim, as if the world is against us. The space of opposition is the source of all conflict. You see, there is oneness, there is one reality, and there is also twoness—there are polarities, there are different ends of a spectrum which allows for contrasting and complementing variances. That is the world we live in. That is how we get to experience life as the vast dynamics of all the different expressions that exist between the two points. Yet the strongest point is in the middle, the balance point between the two ends, where the two come back into one. If we become polarized and we just stand on one end, looking in judgment at the other end, then one has to be right and one has to be wrong. Right? Or wrong?

The greed for acquisition and indulgence of inhibition

Slow reduction of nutrition, and we call it a tradition

Of course the holiday season has had some play in my mind through the weekend. I love the holiday season and yet I have an honest observation of how our culture has become. We do a pretty good job here at Sunrise. You know everybody thinks they do a pretty good job with themselves. But then we look outside and we do the little judgments against outside things. But what’s happening in our own collective culture? We’ve got a day devoted to filling ourselves as full as we can, and then a crazed spending spree fueled by good deals the next day. I am not in judgment of it, but it is wise to look at the other side of the coin, even though I also choose to focus on the side that is bringing me up and elevating my mind and spirits. We can absolutely instead, use the holiday to remind ourselves of the importance of gratitude and celebrating the harvest of our efforts.

Only divine recognition avoids the addition of collision. We have these patterns in our subconscious mind, individually and collectively. Those patterns are running because they were developed from distortions, probably at some early developmental point when we didn’t even realize what that word meant. We innocently learned, “Oh, you do this and then this happens, and so that’s how it works.” I’ll just program that there in the old subconscious and it’ll keep running for the rest of my life, even though we may grow to know that it doesn’t always work that way. We may have re-programmed ourselves over and again, yet it still comes up. So we have crashes in our life, between other people, and with life itself. And sometimes if feels like they just keep adding up.

The only way out of that is to recognize that there is something greater, something higher. There is spirit. To turn the heart and mind toward the spirit, in the spirit of response, with love to Love. That is what gratitude is really all about. It is giving thanks for the things that you have. Who are you giving thanks to? Yourself? “Great job, self—I created lots of things I really like in my life.” No, it is something higher that is working beyond our understanding and control, bringing things into place for a greater purpose, according to a higher design. We each definitely have our own creative responsibility, and there is something greater than what we commonly recognize as ourselves.

When we give thanks upwards, it allows an opening of the channel for that spirit of God to flow in and clear out all those cobwebs of programming inside of the basement of our minds. Something new can happen. It allows the space for the pure dwelling place, for the One Who Dwells, for the experience of Shekinah and holy divine living, if we choose to give thanks, love and allow. That is actually our job of meeting halfway. That is the healing of the self, by going to the source of healing. And that does take the choice that only we can provide for ourselves. It is a holographic world—it is all right here. We do not heal the world until we heal ourselves, because in truth, you can only help another to the degree that you have been able to help yourself first.

So let’s transition out of competition. It is not about fighting against any one other thing. It is about working together with every other thing. We can be a co-creative coalition, aligned and working together toward the common good. The more that we come into that collective creative space and focus on how one is truly living and truly giving, the faster we elevate. Because the more ambition we have for divine reality, the more we will push ourselves towards it, just like ambition for money or anything else.

As we learn and grow, we evolve. It’s happening individually and collectively. The self you knew yourself as is not the self you are coming to know yourself as. Everything changes. I am not the same person and so how I fit into the puzzle is not the same either. The picture also changes in life so that same puzzle piece from before wouldn’t fit the same anyway. The thing is I don’t have to figure it out or make myself into some shape in order to try to fit. This is all part of a greater plan and the more I allow it to unfold, I am letting myself perceive the divine design rather than trying to create my own. Life will provide provision if I listen to my intuition.

And there is no need to fight. But if you do find yourself in a conflict or challenge, the best ammunition is love without condition. Just love it all, and give thanks in all things. That love will help things that are out of place and out of balance find their way back into balance and rightful placements. The Spirit of Love does a way better job than we do at coordinating Life. But we personally have a lot of power as well. Our job is to meet it halfway by using our power wisely to come into a greater space of surrender to spiritual expression. And that is an every moment choice.

The Perfection of Oneness

To have a conscious understanding of what oneness is, it’s helpful to have an understanding of what oneness isn’t: duality. There is one and there is two, oneness and duality. Duality is a misperception of polarity. Polarity is a spectrum where there are polar opposites at each end. In duality, something can be oneContinue Reading
